What average do you need to get into university of Waterloo?

Waterloo’s admission averages range from low 80s to mid-90s. Admission averages can vary depending on the number of applications we receive, the number of spaces available in each program, and the grades of students who apply. Smaller or highly competitive programs will have higher admission ranges.

Is 80 a good mark in university?

When you start at university, any mark over 50\% is a great grade. Getting a mark over 50\% means that you are beginning to understand the difficult work of your degree. Getting over 60\% is excellent because it means you have demonstrated a deep knowledge of your subject to the marker.

Is Waterloo hard to get into?

This is one of the biggest questions you might have, and as you probably know, Waterloo attracts top students from around the world. Our entrance averages change slightly every year, but in general, low to mid-90s for some programs, and mid-to high 90s for others means you’re a competitive candidate.

Does Waterloo require predicted grades?

If you don’t have final grades in some of your courses, we’ll use mid-term or predicted grades. At Waterloo, your admission average will be the average of your top 6 Grade 12 courses (U or M courses for Ontario students) including the courses which are required for the program you’re applying to.
