What is the delivery problem?
The problem we introduce in this paper, the delivery problem (DP), calls for the identification of a set of routes visiting all customers, such that the expected number of successful deliveries is maximized. The DP is similar in nature to the team orienteering problem (TOP) (Chao et al., 1996).

Does ups have a bad experience with deliveries?

For the U.S. Postal Service, it means their city carriers and non-career city carrier assistants (CCAs) are delivering packages after the targeted return time of 6:00 p.m. Returning late from their routes raises safety concerns — especially when it gets dark earlier — and overtime costs. Few are complaining about the ecommerce explosion, mind you.
How do you get large packages delivered?
Larger parcels are sent using UPS. They always arrive on the scheduled date, and often before the scheduled date. The drivers ring my bell, and leave the item on my front porch. Which is as I have asked that they do, since I live in a safe neighborhood.
What does it mean when USPS delivers packages after 6pm?
This new paradigm comes at a cost, however. For the U.S. Postal Service, it means their city carriers and non-career city carrier assistants (CCAs) are delivering packages after the targeted return time of 6:00 p.m. Returning late from their routes raises safety concerns — especially when it gets dark earlier — and overtime costs.
