Just be straightforward and ask how they are feeling. It’s less vague than “How are you?” and shows right away that you are ready to hear about emotions….Ask about feelings

  1. How are you feeling today?
  2. What emotions are coming up for you lately?
  3. How are you coping at the moment?

How do you ask question about your feelings?

Ask yourself:

  1. What am I feeling?
  2. When did I first notice this feeling?
  3. What’s the primary cause of this feeling?
  4. What are possible secondary causes of this feeling?
  5. Am I tired or stressed?
  6. How should I respond to this feeling?
  7. Should I just wait for this feeling to pass?

Can you feel emotion?

Sometimes people feel emotions even though they don’t notice any thoughts related to those emotions. This can be hard to understand. However, scientists have found that sometimes your brain can trigger an emotion unconsciously.

However, my friend was right. You do have the right to feel your feelings. Your feelings are what help you determine what is healthy and positive in your life and what you need to walk away from.
