Should I go for mtech or PSU?

1) Its depend upon your way of thinking if you want job security and low workload then go to PSU. 2) But if you want to learn various new technical thing related to your branch then go for M. Tech and get a job in an MNC.

Can MTech students apply PSU?

There are 23 IITs in the country, with a total of 72,000 students. Around 14,000 MTech students are enrolled in these institutes. GAIL, ONGC and SAIL are said to be among the PSUs that offer jobs to MTech students from IITs, with the recruitment process for most PSUs continuing well after the admissions are over.

You can save up enough and go for an MTech a couple years down the line on the basis of the same GATE score. You want to prepare for other competitive examinations along with your job. You are not that ambitious in general.

What is it like to go to an IIT?

IIT : A lot assignments and hard work inside IIT too. You will have to work hard, compete again . You should be ready for that. But in India you will get a lot of respect due to the IIT tag. Also going to IIT might open chances of exploring the opportunities in the world for you. You can go on exchange/internships to other countries etc.
