Is zero times infinity indeterminate?

In multiplying 0 by infinity, infinity is the multiplier and 0 is the multiplicand. So multiplying zero infinite number of times will give the product zero. Infinite here means indefinitely finite. Therefore, Zero multiplied by infinity is zero, not indeterminate.

Is zero by infinity undefined?

In mathematics, expressions like 1/0 are undefined. But the limit of the expression 1/x as x tends to zero is infinity. Similarly, expressions like 0/0 are undefined. Thus 1/0 is not infinity and 0/0 is not indeterminate, since division by zero is not defined.

What is 0 multiply by infinity?

Any number multiplied by 0 is 0. Any number multiply by infinity is infinity or indeterminate. 0 multiplied by infinity is the question.

Is infinity plus infinity indeterminate?

No . But Infinity — Infinity is an indeterminate quantity. If you add any two humongous numbers the sum will be an even larger number. If you add infinity (an impossibly large number) plus another impossible large number the result is still an impossibly large number (infinity).

Does infinity mean undefined?

The value of infinity is also undefined. What is the difference between Infinity and Undefined? Undefined means, it is impossible to solve. Infinity means, it is without bound.

What is the value of 0 infinity?

0. When you multiply any number by 0 you get 0. So, when you multiply 0 by infinity, you get 0.

Why is infinity * 0 indeterminate?

Indeterminate applies to limits. Outside of the context of limits infinity * 0 would just be undefined for the reasons people have stated, multiplication is defined for numbers and infinity is not really a number. Things are different with limits. After substitution in a limit you can arrive at an indeterminate form like infinity * 0.

What is the value of 0 multiplied by Infinity?

According to the law of 0- if any number will be multiplied by 0 the answer will come 0 only. According to the law of infinity- if any number wil be multiplied by infinity the answer will come infinite. these both answer can considered correct. But I will consider the first answer that is 0.

Is ∞*0 determinate or indeterminate?

As two expressions which would result in ∞ 0 if you plug infinity in result in different limits, ∞*0 must be an indeterminate form. The thing here is that every number multiplied by zero should be zero, but every real number multiplied by infinity should intuitively be infinity!

What is Infinity X 0 = Infinity?

You could say the same thing about infinity as you do zero: Any number times infinity is infinity: infinity x 5= infinity for sure. And since infinity x 0.000000000000000000000000000000001 = infinity, surely infinity x 0 = infinity.
