This option is best paired with the single-servo (AF-S) Focus mode, which is also geared to still subjects.

Does the Nikon D3500 have auto focus?

I wouldn’t say that the D3500 has flawless autofocus, especially compared to Nikon’s 39-point, 51-point, and 153-point systems on their more advanced cameras. But for the D3500’s intended purpose, its autofocus capabilities certainly exceeded my expectations.

How do I set autofocus on Nikon D5600?

Pressing the shutter-release button halfway initiates autofocus. Focus mode lets you choose whether focus locks once the camera has focused or if the camera continues to adjust focus while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
