Is the MPAA censorship?

Instead of censoring content from the films, the MPAA now censors people from the content. “R” rated films require the viewer to be 17 or older, OR to have a parent inside of the theater during viewing. “NC-17″ and “Unrated” films ONLY let in viewers over the age of 17 inside.

Who is allowed in a rated R movie?

R: Restricted, Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. This rating means the film contains adult material such as adult activity, harsh language, intense graphic violence, drug abuse and nudity.
