Because the a7R IV is honestly way too much camera for even most day-to-day professional shooters. Sony’s top-level innovations with the a7R IV are pretty limited when you take a step back and really look at what’s actually improved between it and the previous-generation a7R III. You can get a brand new a7R III for $2500, which is a great value given what the camera can do. It’s also $1,000 less expensive than the $3500 a7R IV which, as I’ve said here, you probably don’t need in the first place.
