NoMa is an emerging neighborhood and very popular among residents for several reasons, several being its transportation options, its upcoming nightlife and restaurants, its yearly cultural or musical events and its public wi-fi.

NoMa is a nice neighborhood there are some spots I prefer not to walk alone at night, but overall if you are aware of where you are it’s relatively convenient, and there are lots of cool new spots popping up around Noma on H St. and in Union Market.
What is the future of Noma?
NoMa is still transforming from an industrial area to a dense, walkable urban neighborhood of apartments, offices and retail. The main amenities I look forward to having in the future are more bars and local (not chain) restaurants in NoMa, and more park space.
What is it like to live in the Eckington / NoMa neighborhood?
NOMA / Eckington is a very vibrant neighborhood, with lots of restaurants and very good transportation access. Close to Union Market for lots of good food experiences. Close to grocery store, and metro. No bars or sit down restaurants to walk to.
How far is the commute from Noma to GWU?
NoMa is approximately a 35 minute commute to GWU. However, my roommate works on the hill which is less than 10 minutes away. There is a Harris Teeter connected to the building so you don’t even have to go outside in order to shop for groceries.
