Is Nexus same as Pixel?

Nexus is made by the OEM (LG, Huawei, Motorola, etc) and Google had only little say on the design but Pixel is completely designed by Google and HTC just manufactured it. Nexus never had Google branding (it was Nexus along with OEM brand) but Pixel has only Google branding.
