Is it worth it to learn archery?

Archery is a great sport for building confidence quickly. The feeling of shooting a bow and accomplishing your goal – whether it’s drilling a bull’s eye or executing a great shot – helps you build self-esteem and enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Archery is also great for improving focus, patience and even math skills.

Now, as survival bows are essentially just small, collapsible longbows. As you might guess, this means their power is quite a bit less than a takedown recurve bow. Most survival bows can shoot accurately up to 30 yards, though, which is more than enough for deer hunting, especially in a survival scenario.

Can you use a bow as a melee weapon?

Bow´s are not made to be melee weapons and should not be used as such unless absolutely necessary. Very bad. The most important thing about the material for a bow is elasticity – it need to be able to bend, but not break, so it can compress a lot of mechanical energy to release into the arrow.
