Is it too late to join junior track?

In general, it’s not too late to be recruited in your junior year. However, you may not be recruited by a coach at one of your top schools or end up playing where you thought you would. Instead, they attend a practice or tryout where the coach evaluates their skills and decides to let them on the team or not.

Why do they call 11th grade junior?

Dating back to the end of the 13th century, junior has always meant someone younger, or more particularly, “the younger of two.” Defined in relations to their more learned upperclassmen, early on, juniors were called “Junior Soph,” and seniors were denoted with “Sophester”.

It’s not too late to get involved in extracurriculars. Pick an activity (or four) to enhance your schedule. If you haven’t participated in extracurricular activities much so far (videogames don’t count), junior year is the time to get involved.
