Is it rude to talk in a different language?

Generally speaking, yes, it is rude. If there is a diverse group of people who speak a range of different languages, it is best to communicate with each other in a language that everybody has in common.

What language has the most accents?

The most accents: probably English, simply because it’s spoken by so many people from so many countries; many of them non-native speakers, many of them native speakers but with an accent that the average learner is not often confronted with (for example, Nigerians).

Is it rude to not speak English in public?

In all honesty, it depends, for the most part, no it isn’t rude that someone speaks another language around or near you. Is it rude not to speak English in public in an English speaking country? In all honesty it depends, for the most part no it isn’t rude that someone speaks another language around or near you. In fact, it is their right to their culture, as well as their right to privacy. I’ve grown up around Vietnamese and Spanish my whole life and yes at times I’ve been left out of concersations.

Sometimes an innocent word in a language can sound really bad in another, and that’s where the real fun is. Below are some words that are completely innocuous in their native language but sound downright inappropriate and rude to the ears of speakers of other languages.

Why do we love language Nerds?

They are what gets us, language nerds, turned on. When you speak more than one language, you realize that words mean different things in different languages. Sometimes an innocent word in a language can sound really bad in another, and that’s where the real fun is.
