Is it bad to hit your keyboard hard?

Yes. Laptop keys are usually membrane keys and they are usually soft to touch but have lesser durability. You should not hit them as hard as you would hit your desktop keyboard.

Can typing too hard break your keyboard?

Yeah, while the keyboards are fairly tough, hitting them with force and anger could certainly damage them.

What happens if you press a key too much?

In practice, the actual amount of current being drawn by each keyswitch may prove too much for the keyboard controller and it will get confused. On a keyboard which has limited roll-over, the controller will get confused even more quickly and can send signals for keys that have not yet been pressed.

When we are using the keyboard harder it affects the key mechanism and keyboard. So, make sure type keys with normal pressure and do not hit the keys hard. Otherwise the key cap might come off or even get broken. If keys get damaged, you have to replace the keyboard and it cost gets costly.
