Is endometrial cancer fully curable?

Endometrial cancer can usually be cured because it is usually diagnosed early.

Does endometrial cancer spread quickly?

The most common type of endometrial cancer (type 1) grows slowly. It most often is found only inside the uterus. Type 2 is less common. It grows more rapidly and tends to spread to other parts of the body.

Does stage 1 endometrial cancer require chemo?

Chemo is not used to treat stage I and II endometrial cancers. In most cases, a combination of chemo drugs is used. Combination chemotherapy tends to work better than one drug alone. Chemo is often given in cycles: a period of treatment, followed by a rest period.

Is endometrial cancer a terminal?

Grades 1 and 2 endometrioid cancers are type 1 endometrial cancers. Type 1 cancers are usually not very aggressive and they don’t spread to other tissues quickly. Type 1 endometrial cancers are thought to be caused by too much estrogen.

Where does endometrial cancer spread first?

In general, uterine cancer can metastasize to the rectum or bladder. Other areas where it may spread include the vagina, ovaries and fallopian tubes. This form of cancer is typically slow-growing and often detected before it has spread to more distant areas of the body.

Common signs of endometrial cancer recurrence include vaginal bleeding, changes in bowel or bladder habits, abdominal pain, bloating, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting. After a patient completes her first round of treatment, a physician will usually monitor her carefully for uterine cancer recurrence.
