Is cooking salt same as sodium chloride?

Food-grade table salt is almost pure sodium chloride — 97\% or higher — but in many countries, it also contains added iodine. The addition of iodine to table salt is the result of a successful public health preventative measure against iodine deficiency, which is common in many parts of the world.

What is the difference in between sodium chloride and table salt?

Chemically both are same having Nacl as formula, but table salt is refined one which contains added iodine as per the guidelines. Sodium chloride is a chemical term without any additives, but table salt is a ingredient.

A pure sample of sodium chloride (NaCl) extracted from a salt mine and a pure sample of sodium chloride fabricated in the lab are exactly identical in every way. Atoms don’t have memories or birthmarks. Pure NaCl behaves and reacts in exactly the same way no matter where it came from.
