Is Burmese spoken in Thailand?

Sixty-two ‘domestic’ languages are officially recognized, and international languages spoken in Thailand, primarily by international workers, expatriates and business people, include Burmese, Karen, English, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese, among others.

Tones. Burmese is a tonal language, which means phonemic contrasts can be made on the basis of the tone of a vowel. In Burmese, these contrasts involve not only pitch, but also phonation, intensity (loudness), duration, and vowel quality.

Yes, old Burmese had a lot of Chinese descendant words but under influence of Pali and Buddhism they had changed.I thiink Vietnamese had a lot of loan word from Chinese. Vietnamese is Austroasiatic language .The only dominant language group of South East Asia before Siamese and Burmese arrive.

Burmese and Chinese are related members of the Sino-Tibetan (ST) language family, with the former representing the largest Tibeto-Burman language (a sub-branch of ST) and the latter, which actually branches into a number of Chinese varieties, commonly termed “dialects.”

Do people from Myanmar look like Chinese or Korean?

Some Kachin, Shan and Karen people from Myanmar look like Korean. Some Chin, Kachin, Shan and Karen people from Myanmar partially look like Chinese. Probably, some ancient Korean passed through South East Asia, they might have left some family members behind. 😀

Thai language and Shan languages have same thing in that there are five tones but silmilar for some letters and some words. Thai Yai almost cultured from Myanmar, so their speaking, communication is quite different from Thai language.
