Is 90 fps good for VR?

Studies have shown that in practice, any VR setup that generates frame rates below 90 frames per second (FPS) is likely to induce disorientation, nausea, and other negative user effects. The lower the frame rate, the worse the effects. Thus, the goal for VR developers is to target 90 FPS at all times in their software.

Is 90 fps better than 60FPS?

Yes, 90 FPS will look smoother with lower latency between your inputs and the screen. You would be hard-pressed to go back to 60 if you experience a stable 90FPS in many games.

Can you notice the difference between 90 and 120 fps?

P.S.: 90 vs 120 does make a significant difference if you are into true 3D gaming (shutterglasses, 3D monitors, etc) . Because then your framerate gets halved – 50\% for your left eye, 50\% for your right eye. So you’d get a difference of 45 vs. 60 “effective” fps.
