How will you deal with a fellow employee who is stealing money?

When asked what you would do if you witnessed a coworker stealing, it’s important to respond quickly and decisively. The goal is to show the potential employer that you are loyal. Assure the interviewer that you would report the theft to HR or your manager, no matter the circumstances.

If you decide (after the investigation) that there are grounds to suspect the employee of theft, you should invite the employee to attend a disciplinary hearing. You must set out the allegations in writing and provide sufficient information about the evidence you have to enable the employee to prepare.
