In fact, in 2020 the firearms and ammunition industry was responsible for as much as $63.49 billion in total economic activity in the country.

What would the world be like without guns?

Well, let’s not be relentlessly negative. A world without guns cannot have the technology of the piston driven engine, which is basically a gun (in fact, some early internal combustion designs even attempted to use gunpowder). It must lack the metallurgy to make gun barrels or the chemistry to create explosive propellants.
