How many magazines does an infantryman carry?

A modern day US infantry soldier will have a minimum of 7 magazines for his M4 rifle. With 30 rounds pr magazine this makes 210. Many, if not most, soldiers will carry an additional magazine or two.

The current rifleman’s loadout in the US military is seven 30-round magazines for the M4 Carbine. So, you’re looking at 210 rounds of 5.56×45 ammo. This is standard across the Army, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
