How long does it take to learn Dutch B2?

Most people learn the easier languages to B2 level if studied for 500–1000 hours (according to the CIA). The more difficult languages take up to 4x as much time (e.g. Japanese). So with group lessons in the morning and self-study/living in The Netherlands, you should be there in about 12–15 weeks.

What is native level English?

It refers to someone who speaks like a native speaker. Someone who has lived in a country where it is the native language from the age of 5, for example, probably has a similar level to a native speaker, even though it’s not technically their native language.

Is C2 a native speaker?

“Level C2, whilst it has been termed ‘Mastery’, is not intended to imply native-speaker or near native-speaker competence.” In its document on the standardization of language proficiency levels (see sources) the NATO Standardization Agency names the highest level of proficiency that of the “well-educated native”.

Are native English speakers C1?

The C1 level would allow for full autonomy in a native English-speaking country. According to the official CEFR guidelines, someone at the C1 level in English: Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning.

Are most native speakers C1?

Most native speakers who come out from school have probably C1. In the worst cases B2 but at least some parts would be C1. Not really as native languages are acquired with natural manners. We learned native languages by observing first before being learned technically at school.
