How is quantum data stored?

To store quantum information, light itself needs to be stored without being measured. Light for quantum memory is recording the state of light into the atomic cloud. When light is absorbed by atoms, they can input all the information about the quantum of light.

How are qubits created and managed?

To create a qubit, scientists have to find a spot in a material where they can access and control these quantum properties. The magnets and microwaves together allow scientists to control the qubit. Since the 1990s, scientists have been able to gain better and better control over electron spin.

Qubits, on the other hand, can hold a zero, a one, or any proportion of both zero and one at the same time. An array of qubits can use superposition to represent all 2^64 possible values at once, allowing a quantum computer to solve problems that are practically impossible for standard computers.

Saving Data in Light Traditional and quantum computers both store data as binary code. However, while traditional computers store information in bits as either a 1 or 0, quantum computers store data in qubits as either a 1, a 0, or both simultaneously.
