How do you grind chocolate?

How you grind the basic recipe:

  1. Melt cacao butter in your microwave or in a pot in your stove.
  2. If you’re using a blender, start on lowest speed and increase slowly until you’ve reached the highest speed level.
  3. Grind for 1 minute at highest speed level.
  4. Reduce the speed of your blender to zero and add the sugar.

Place the cacao nibs in your coffee grinder and pulse Four times for 2 seconds each. If you hold the button down you will get a powder. Remove and place in your french press and add boiling water. Let seep for 5 to 8 minutes.

Can coffee grinders grind other things?

A coffee grinder can grind nuts and spices, turning whole spices like nutmeg or cumin seeds into a fine powder. While blade grinders can grind nuts and spices in smaller batches, burr grinders can turn larger quantities into fine grinds. You can also grind herbs, breadcrumbs, and parmesan cheese.

Can you grind cacao nibs into powder?

In order to reduce the cacao nibs to a powder, you have to grind them a few times�first in a food processor, then in a coffee grinder. Don’t try to grind them to a powder using only a food processor.

With a grinder: Add the nibs in small portions to the grinder and grind into a paste. The cacao butter will start to extract from the nibs (similar to when making nut butter), and the powder will become wetter and more paste-like.
