How do the needs of people help the government to devise laws?

The laws often fail to benefit people as they are devised according to their needs. People need those laws that will provide them security, freedom, basic life necessities, justice on time and equal rights in the society. The government and legislature should make laws keeping these needs of the masses in mind.

How do new laws come into being?

The proposal for a new law or a change to an existing one is called a bill (see Bills and Laws). A bill can only become a law if it is passed by a majority vote in the House of Representatives and the Senate. The bill must be agreed to in identical form by both chambers, and given Royal Assent by the Governor-General.

Answer: The laws are made by the government and every citizen have to follow these laws. The government needs to make rules for everyone in the form of law because by doing so people can obey rule and thus the nation as a whole leads a secure life.

Ans: People participate in the process of government through the following various ways:

  • By taking interest in the working of the government.
  • By criticising the government on various unpopular issues.
  • By taking out rallies.
  • By holding signature campaigns.

Why do we need laws in a country?

The law is important because it acts as a guideline as to what is accepted in society. Without it there would be conflicts between social groups and communities. It is pivotal that we follow them. The law allows for easy adoption to changes that occur in the society.

How does the government in force the law?

An Act comes into force when it is: passed by both the Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha), and. assented to by the President, and. notified in the official gazette.

Only the federal government can regulate interstate and foreign commerce, declare war and set taxing, spending and other national policies. The Treasury Department’s duties, for example, include printing and regulating money. The president also serves as commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces.

This law comes from the judicial branch. Though the courts do not pass laws, they do interpret them. This means that the judiciary bases their legal decisions on what is written in the Constitution, and on previous court rulings in similar cases. This is a process called stare decisis which in Latin means “let the decision stand.”.
