How do I pay Swayam fees?
If you are paying fee via Local chapter of your college: Please select payment as “Pay via SPOC of my college”. Please hand over the fees to the SPOC. If the SPOC rejects your request, we will inform you and only if you pay directly will the registration be confirmed.
Do we need to pay for NPTEL course?
All courses are completely free to enrol and learn from. The certification exam is optional and comes at a fee of Rs 1000/course exam. Certification process: NPTEL began the initiative of offering certification to students for courses in March 2014.

Actually there is no fee for doing NPTEL courses . But you will have to pay 1000 ₹ ( gen/ obc) for obtaining course certificates. You can do any courses which are available .
Is it possible for anyone outside the IIT system to do NPTEL?
It is now possible for ANYONE outside the IIT System to be able to do an online certification course from NPTEL and get a certificate from the IITs. IITs are reaching out and taking education to the homes of people through this initiative. Why was this initiative through the model of Open Online Courses?
How can I change the date of the NPTEL exam?
NPTEL will allot the session (Forenoon/Afternoon) and it will be mentioned in the hall ticket. There is no option to change the date of the exams.
Can I take the netnptel exam outside India?
NPTEL conducts the final certification exam as a proctored exam where the candidate has to come in person to a designated centre and write the exam. We do not have a process in place to conduct proctored exam for candidates outside India. Hence you can enroll and study using these courses.
