Are students receiving as positive an educational experience online as they would in person?
A: Online learning can be as good or even better than in-person classroom learning. Research has shown that students in online learning performed better than those receiving face-to-face instruction, but it has to be done right.

What do you think are the key goals of education?
The real goal of education, and of school, is becoming—becoming a “good” person and becoming a more capable person than when you started. Learning is nothing but a means of accomplishing that goal, and it is dangerous to confuse the ends with the means.
How do you ensure education transcends the classroom?
To ensure that education transcends the classroom, I have implemented a Morning Gathering, have students participate in meaningful practice, debates, and community events throughout the year, and help students prepare for summer jobs or academic endeavors outside of school.

Characteristics of professional learning communities include supportive and shared leadership, shared values and vision, collective learning and application of learning, supportive conditions, and shared practice (Hord, 2004).

A majority of students, 57 percent, said they felt more positive about online learning now than before the pandemic. Close to half, 47 percent, said their attitude toward online exam proctoring — a topic of some controversy due to privacy concerns — had also improved.

Tips generally fell into three categories:
- Good Relationships. Get started early. Build positive relationships with students and parents starting with the first day of school.
- Clear Communication. Speak their language. Use humor, tech, or other strategies to get on their level.
- Trust. Let your students make decisions.
What is the ultimate purpose of education?
The ultimate purpose of education is to build a progressed society. Education is a continuous process. That is transmitted from generation to generation. Therefore, it does not end.
