How can we reduce friction to zero?

Friction can be reduced by polishing surfaces or using large amount of lubricants such as oil, water, or grease but we cannot reduce friction to zero. Friction exists at even atomic levels too. We cannot completely eliminate friction.

Is there a way to have no friction?

A: Motion is indeed possible without friction! A usual way to apply a force on an object here on earth is to take advantage of friction, of course, but you can also push and pull on things that have no friction (just make sure the force is applied perpendicular to the surface or your hand will slip).

What happens if the friction is zero?

Superficial answer – if friction becomes zero, most of our equipment will not work as intended. We will not be able to walk either. More scarily meteors and space junk that falls back to earth will not burn out and many terrestrial targets will be hit causing wide spread damage and death.

Which has least friction?

SMOOTH SURFACE HAS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF FRICTION DUE TO LESS IRREGULARITIES.

Can the force of friction be made zero give examples?

Friction always acts to oppose any relative motion between surfaces. For the simple example of a book resting on a flat table, the frictional force is zero. There is no force trying to move the book across the table, so there is no need for a frictional force because there is nothing for the frictional force to oppose.

Can we walk if there is no friction?

No, we can’t walk if there is no friction because when we walk, we push the ground with our feet and friction pushes in the opposite direction then we move forward.

What might happen if there is no gravity and friction?

Humans and other objects will become weightless without gravity. If we have no gravity force, the atmosphere would disappear into space, the moon would collide with the earth, the earth would stop rotating, we would all feel weightless, the earth would collide with the sun, and as a consequence.

Which produce least friction sliding or rolling?

As the area of contact is less in the case of rolling than in the case of sliding, rolling friction is less than the sliding friction. Rolling friction is the resistance to motion experienced by a body when it rolls upon another. It is much less than sliding friction for the same pair of bodies.

What less friction means?

Friction is a force that holds back the movement of a sliding object. Friction is still there, but the liquid makes the surfaces smoother and the friction a lot less. Less friction means it is harder to stop. The low friction thing happens to cars when it rains.

Why there is no place with zero friction?

These orbiting bodies can be a planet and its satellite , a star and any object orbiting it, or components of any binary system . Orbits do not decay without some friction-like mechanism which robs energy from the orbital motion. This can be any of a number of mechanical , gravitational , or electromagnetic effects.
