How can I manage school and NTSE?

Make sure that you have adequately covered the syllabus way before boards begin so that you can continue your competitive exam prep when boards end. This can include solving previous years question papers and giving mock tests. The best method of managing both is to be regular in classes and following a timetable.

Can Class 11 students appear for NTSE?

NTSE is only held for 10th standard students and the exam is conducted in two different stages – Stage I and II. The first stage exam is a state-level exam and is conducted by all the Indian states and UTs. As mentioned earlier, only those who qualify in NTSE stage 1 will be eligible to write the Stage II exam.

Is NTSE Stage 2 Difficult?

Who selected NTSE Stage 2?

Students who have secured 80\% marks on the state board are eligible for stage 2 of the NTSE exam. Every year around 4000 candidates appear for stage 2 of the NTSE exam. The candidates who clear the NTSE stage 2 with the minimum marks defined are eligible for scholarships.

Is NTSE Stage 1 and Stage 2 syllabus the same?

The syllabus is the same for both the stages, i.e. stage-I and stage-II. It is important to note that the NCERT prescribes no specified NTSE exam syllabus. The NTSE syllabus is entirely based on the Class 10 syllabus of the NCERT. Students can identify and concentrate on the topics that have more weightage in the exam.

Is NTSE available in Class 11?

Earlier in 1960s and 70s, when NTSE originated, it was available for class 10, 11 and 12. In 2000s, it was made available for class 8. In 2012, it was made available for class 10 only which still continues. So, no provision of NTSE in class 11 as of now.

How do I prepare for the NTSE?

NCERT has released a booklet called ‘Learn about the Test’, it contains sample items for both the MAT and SAT. Candidates can refer this to get an idea of what the syllabus might be like.
