How accurate is a side mounted scope?
With a properly zeroed, side-mounted scope, an accurately fired round will meet line-of-sight only once, at the target. A side-mount has a larger margin of error because, if improperly zeroed for elevation, the round will miss high or low AND miss left or right.
Why do rifle scope lose zero?
When the gun and scope “”lose zero”, there are several things that may have happened. First and foremost, the wind may have shifted, either in speed or direction.
