Does the military look at expunged records?
Even though you are still required to disclose expunged offenses and the U.S. Military will still be able to see expunged offenses on your record, expungement under state law can carry some weight when it comes to your eligibility for enlistment.
Do expunged records show up on federal background checks?
Expunged charges are erased from the record entirely, and sealed records still exist but are inaccessible to the public. Generally, sealed and expunged records will never appear on a background check.
Can you join the Army with an expunged felony?

The military has access to all criminal records including those that a normal employer would not have access to, such as sealed and expunged records as well as juvenile records. The military can have access to all criminal records if necessary in the enlistment or security clearance process.
Will a military conviction show up on a background check?
Generally it will not be included in most background checks. However, it will show up in some Federal background checks. In addition, if your military discharge was related a conviction of a Federal crime,. that conviction will show up in most background checks, as a conviction by a Federal, military court.
