Does Indian Army comes under CAPF?

Indian Army comes under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Indian Army is the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. Indian Army is the largest standing army in the World.

The newly appointed Assistant Commandants (ACs) of CAPFs will first serve with the Army for “three months and the next three months with the state police”, the MHA order read. From now, officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be attached to the Army for three months.

Promotion in army is easier till Lt colonel since it is time bound whereas in CAPF promotion is little tough till 2iC and so is life. But then again in CAPF it is easier to reach the rank of IG (which is equivalent to Major general) but it is like extremely tough to reach there in Army all credit goes to the pyramidical promotion structure.

Whereas in CAPF the training is more emphasised on moral and mental training for counter insurgencies along with attachment training with army and state police since they have to do the operations against the naxals who are the resident of our country only and you can not be harsh on them unlike the terrorists.
