Does GPA matter for mechanical engineering?

GPA definitely does matter, especially when it comes to an engineering course, but not so much in the way that you may think. Anything above a 3.0 is great, but for your GPA to be considered really exceptional then you will want to shoot for a grade of around 3.8 or higher.

Does it matter what CGPA is required to get into IT companies?

Yes it matters. You must fulfill the minimum criteria. Like many IT companies want students with cgpa above 7. There are some companies who want 7.5+ cgpa. So according to me, one must aim for 7.5+ . How important is the CGPA of an engineering student?

Engineering CGPA is one of the most neglected things by an engineering student. Many think it is not a major matter of concern, and scoring only minimum GPA will be enough. But it’s the greatest myth. GPA plays a major role during placement cut-off, various Interviews like in PhD, Mtech, any off campus placements,etc.

What is the minimum CGPA required in 10th to get engineering job?

While the least any company goes to is 60\% marks in 10th and 12th with 6.5 CGPA in college, some companies ask for as much as 90\% during school academics with 8.5+ CGPA at engineering. The usual trend is, better the company or higher the salary offered, higher is the eligibility criteria that is set.

Does CGPA matter more for a master’s degree?

CGPA matters more if you want to pursue a career in CORE fields. For those planning for higher studies, it’s altogether a different story… 1. Firstly identify in which course u want to pursue your master’s. Starting early was never a harm. 2. Take a minor or elective related to that subject if your college provides that option, it could help. 3.
