What region should I use AWS?
If most of your users access your applications from within North America, then it typically makes sense to deploy your software in an AWS region located in the US or Canada.
Which countries can use AWS?
AWS Global Infrastructure Map The AWS Cloud spans 84 Availability Zones within 26 geographic regions around the world, with announced plans for 24 more Availability Zones and 8 more AWS Regions in Australia, Canada, India, Israel, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
What is availability zone in AWS?
An Availability Zone (AZ) is one or more discrete data centers with redundant power, networking, and connectivity in an AWS Region.
Can we visit AWS data center?
Does AWS allow physical data center tours by the customer? No. Due to the fact that our data centers host multiple customers, AWS does not allow data center tours by customers, as this exposes a wide range of customers to physical access of a third party.
Does S3 bucket region matter?

How do you choose a cloud region?
Factors to consider when selecting regions
- Latency. The main factor to consider is the latency your user experiences.
- Pricing.
- Colocation with other Google Cloud services.
- Machine-type availability.
- Resource quotas.
- Carbon-free energy percentage.
- Last mile latency.
- Google frontend and edge POP latency.
What are regions in AWS?
AWS has the concept of a Region, which is a physical location around the world where we cluster data centers. We call each group of logical data centers an Availability Zone. Each AWS Region consists of multiple, isolated, and physically separate AZs within a geographic area.
What happens if AWS region goes down?
When an entire availability zone goes down, AWS is able to failover workloads to one of the other zones in the same region, a capability known as “Multi-AZ” redundancy.
How many availability zones should I use?
High availability requires at least two availability zones. The idea is that only one zone will go down at a time: the proverbial backhoe cutting power and network cables. Since Amazon isolates the data centers for each availability zone, that backhoe won’t take out more than one AZ.
What is the difference between availability zone and region?
Each Region is a separate geographic area. Availability Zones are multiple, isolated locations within each Region. Local Zones provide you the ability to place resources, such as compute and storage, in multiple locations closer to your end users.
Which AWS services are delivered globally rather than regionally?
Due to the nature of the service, some AWS services are delivered globally rather than regionally, such as Amazon Route 53, Amazon Chime, Amazon WorkDocs, Amazon WorkMail, Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon WorkLink. Unlike other technology infrastructure providers, each AWS Region has multiple AZs.
How do I choose the AWS region for my application?

For more information, see Configuring the AWS Region in the AWS Command Line Interface User Guide . To choose a region using an SDK, configure your application to use that region’s endpoint.
Why choose AWS for high availability?
AWS customers focused on high availability can design their applications to run in multiple AZs to achieve even greater fault-tolerance. AWS infrastructure Regions meet the highest levels of security, compliance, and data protection.
Where is AWS Europe region located?
Europe (Ireland) Region is located in the Republic of Ireland. * Mainland China (Beijing) 3rd Availability Zone will be added mid-2021. AWS has the concept of a Region, which is a physical location around the world where we cluster data centers. We call each group of logical data centers an Availability Zone.
