Do your parents need to be with you to get a piercing?

Minors need the written consent of a parent or legal guardian to receive a piercing or tattoo.

Can you get a nose piercing at 16 without parental consent?

It is illegal for us to pierce any person under 16 years of age, unless a parent or legal guardian (with proof of it) is present, but please note that we DO NOT pierce anyone under the age of 14.

Do you need parents permission to get a lobe piercing?

Teens have a right to have their ears pierced, but not any other body parts, according to a law passed by the California Legislature and signed by Gov. 1, makes body piercing illegal for those under 18 unless a parent is present or provides notarized permission. Ears are exempt.

The PI intends to seek to enroll teenagers without their parents’ consent. These teenagers would be deemed to have sought treatment for the specific problem of alcoholism and, under Maryland law, they must consent to medical treatment.

Can subjects or parents fax the signed consent or permission form?

Yes, if it is more convenient for the subjects or parents of children who are subjects to fax a signed copy of the consent or permission form to the investigator, the research subjects or parents may fax the signed form.

Can a minor consent to medical treatment without parental consent?

A minor who is married or the parent of a child has the same capacity as an adult to consent to medical treatment. We believe this means that in these situations the treatment may not be rendered without the minor’s consent.
