Do they have spelling bees in Germany?
Spelling bees do not exist in German. Or for that matter, any language besides English. For most languages out there, the idea is somewhat absurd. If you hear a word spoken out loud, you know how it’s spelled.

In general, we recommend level One Bee for lower elementary, Two Bee for upper elementary and Three Bee for middle school. When spellers are comfortable with the words at their starting difficulty level, they are ready to learn the remainder of the 2022 School Spelling Bee Study List, which includes all three levels.
Does Japan have spelling bees?
In Japan, there are no “bees” as such, but there are kanji proficiency tests that go well beyond ordinary use. Each speller receives a unique word. Every speller participates and has a chance to take the stage. A correct oral spelling in Round Two is worth three points. If they miss their word, the head judge will ring the bell, and the speller is eliminated from the competition.

Whoever spells the most words correctly wins the title. In 2019, a record-breaking eight finalists were named co-champion. All the Spelling Bees from 2014 to 2016 ended in a tie.
Does China have spelling bees?
