Not even 200 of the approximate 10,000 students from the Indian Institutes of Technology took up positions outside India last year. In 2012, 84 IIT-B candidates had accepted international job offers. “Compared to 20 years ago, a very small percentage of students go abroad today.

Why are IITians so successful in life?

The great success of IITians just proves that the input was great. It proves nothing about the value-addition done to the input. IITians who have achieved spectacular success in life did so in spite of the mediocre education at the IITs, not because of it.
