Do I actually have to pay for Muni?

The price of a ticket is $2.25 and the price of a fare evasion fine is $109 (according to Muni’s site ). Assuming you ride the Muni 100 times a year, you can expect to pay $225 for 100 tickets, and $218 if you get caught twice without a ticket.

Why is Muni so unreliable?
