It’s normal for a budgie to take a nap during the day. These naps should last for 30-45 minutes and are OK unless they span several hours at a time. The extra sleep helps the budgie obtain the full 10-12 hours it needs. While it will get the majority of this at night, it snatches the rest during the day.
