Instead of killing the Ender Dragon to gain access to the End Gateway, players can build a bridge to the outer islands. After a Minecraft player has successfully built their bridge, they will have continuous access to the outer islands without having defeated the Ender Dragon at all.

  2. Find an End Gateway.
  3. Throw an Ender Pearl through the gateway.

Can you get to the end without a portal?

Getting to the End in Minecraft is no simple feat. Unlike getting to the Nether, you can’t build a portal wherever you want and hop to the End on the way back from the grocery store. There’s a whole process involved, and a pinch of luck, if you want a chance to face the ender dragon.

Is there only one elytra per world?

There are infinite End Cities per End world, but there isn’t an 100\% chance for an End Ship to spawn in each of them. To answer your question though, it should be possible to obtain more!

Are end ships rare?

Every bridge in an End City has a 12.5\% chance of spawning an End Ship, meaning that over half of all End Cities in a world will have a connected End Ship. There is no way for two End Ships to spawn with a single End City, and the reasoning behind that is because the loot found inside of them is incredibly rare.
