Can you pray to God for vengeance?
Thus in one important sense all our prayers are “thy will be done.” In Bonhoeffer’s words, Nowhere do those who pray these psalms want to take revenge into their own hands; they leave vengeance to God alone…. Pray them aloud and pray them boldly as they take us into the brokenness, disorder, and mess of our humanity.
Is it bad to pray for bad things?
When you pray for something bad to happen to someone because they’ve hurt you, know that it can come back to you in unimaginable ways. When you’re plotting against someone, remember the Almighty is aware. Never have a bad intent or make a bad prayer for others!
Whats done in the dark comes to light?
God has determined as he said in Luke 12:2-3, that the secrets will be uncovered, the truth will come forth, and God’s thought about every behavior and action will be vindicated. What’s done in the dark will come to light, and thank God he has created it to operate so!
What does the Bible say about praying for the sick?
The Bible does tell us to place our hands on sick people and pray for them (Mark 16:15-18). It doesn’t say, “You make them well if your faith is strong enough.” It teaches us to reach out in faith. But only God’s power works the miracles. Our responsibility is to pray, but the weight of the outcome was never meant to be on our shoulders.
Can you really be healed by praying?
Yes, and yes! I prayed with someone who had a broken toe and it was healed. I got to see it happen. I prayed with someone who had one leg shorter than the other—and their leg is healed and whole now. I’ve seen the power of God bringing abundant life, bringing healing.
What does the Bible say about forgiveness when praying?
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions. And when ye are praying, forgive if ye have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in the heavens will also forgive you your trespasses.
