First, 25–26 is not ideal but it’s not too late as well. Many fighters started at 30 even after that and they were successful if not super successful. It also depends upon your fitness level, your body type, your current skills in martial arts.

If you’re fifty, then I’d practice, but keep the concussions at a minimum. MMA means strikes, elbows, knees, kicks, takedowns, ground fighting/wrestling. Not just BJJ. There are self defense oriented MMA schools, which actuall spar, but not with a full out MMA competition expectation for every student.
