Can you delete dashcam footage?

Delete a file on the Dash Cam: Press the Play icon – top right of the screen. Scroll through files use left and right arrows to find the one you want to delete. Press the delete button – bottom right. Confirm by clicking ‘OK’

Does dash cam auto delete?

Yes, all of our dash cams do have a feature known as loop recording, so yes, it does automatically delete older videos by itself once the SD card storage runs out. The moment your older videos get overwritten (in case you wanted to keep them), that’s when your videos would get lost forever.

Can police use my dash cam footage?

Turn on “Break video into multiple segments” in order to set a length of recording time anywhere from 1 minute (1 segment, 1 minute in length) to 150 minutes (15 segments, 10 minutes in length).

How do I delete a Dash Cam recording?

To delete a video:

  1. Press the button under the Settings icon.
  2. Press the button under the down arrow until File Delete is highlighted.
  3. Press the button under OK.
  4. Press OK with Video highlighted.
  5. Press the button under the up or down arrows to highlight the desired video.
  6. Press the button under Delete.

How are Dashcams legal?

Although it’s perfectly legal to fit a dash cam into your car and use it while driving, you do need to be careful about its placement. If your dash cam is considered to be obstructing your view of the road ahead, the police could fine you and any footage recorded on it could become inadmissible in court.

What happens when Dash Cam memory is full?

Loop recording on a Dash Cam allows for continuous recording, even if the SD memory card reaches full capacity. This means older files are overwritten once the SD card reaches its file size limit. The Dash Cam will be recording on a continuous loop when powered on, so will always be recording.

How much memory can a dash cam hold?

Depending on your dashboard camera budget, size can vary from 16GB–64GB. A good size SD card for a dashboard cam is 32GB. 32GB mirco SD card is the best choice for the price, giving you about 1-2 hours of recording until its starts to delete or rewrite.

What is loop recording on dash cam?

A continuous loop recording dash cam records video by overwriting older video with new footage. This allows the camera to keep recording even if the installed SD memory card is full, helping to ensure that the device never misses a minute of your drive.

How do you clear a SD card?

Locate the drive assigned by Windows to your SD card, right-click it and select “Format” from the drop-down menu. Remove the check mark from the Quick Format option to ensure everything is erased. Click “Start” to start erasing and to begin formatting the SD card.
