Can we crack gate in 3rd year?

See if you crack GATE in your 3rd year then also you have to wait to complete your graduation but by that time you can participate in the GATE Counselling and can reserve your seat in the required NITs/IITs or any other institution because third year students are also eligible for GATE.

How many hours of preparation is required for gate?

Hours Needed to Prepare Everyday Each person’s preparation time varies slightly. Now say you have already prepared all the subjects during the previous GATE Exam, then you can still use 2 to 3 hours for revising and practice. Use minimum 5 to 6 hours for GATE preparation if you want to be a topper.

Instead, you should think of the layer-based difficulty, i.e., subjects covered, number of questions to be answered, time management, and so on.

Can I use GATE score twice?

YES, You can use it twice. But, you must apply for Mtech in the same year as you have appeared for GATE and must apply for PhD right after completion of MTech course. GATE Score is valid 3 years. IF have appeared for GATE in 2017, Your Score card is valid from 2017 March to 2020 March.
