Can we breathe on Neptune?

A lot of people assume that Neptune is the coldest planet because it is the farthest planet from the sun. This is known to be very cold. It is so cold that it will not be possible for humans to live there, however, the coldest planet in the solar system is Uranus.

Neptune is the coldest planet in the Solar System, maintaining a fairly consistent average of -200 degrees Celsius. Towards the planet’s equator, temperatures can get as cold as -218 degrees Celsius, while temperature at the South Pole is about 10 degrees Celsius warmer.

And like all of the gas giants, Neptune has a much hotter core, which is around 7,000°C. In short, the Solar System runs the gambit from extreme cold to extreme hot, with plenty of variance and only a few places that are temperate enough to sustain life.

How are warm and cold does the planet Neptune get?

Since Neptune is a gas giant, it has no surface at which to measure the temperature, but it is pretty cold.At 0.1 bar (about 1 tenth of earth sea level pressure) the temperature averages 55K (-218°C, -360.4°F). Where the pressure is the same as our sea level, the temperature is a bit warmer, 72K (-201°C, -380°F).
