Can we apply for both MTech and MTech research in IISc?

Yes, provided you are having the valid GATE scores. Note that for getting admitted into M. Tech. (Computational and Data Science) GATE eligibility is mandatory.

What is MTech research?

Master of Technology (M. Tech) Research is a postgraduate program offered by deemed institutes such as IITs and NITs with a program duration of 2-4 years primarily focussing on research work in a particular branch of engineering or a technical field.

Is MTech research and MS same?

Mtech course is for 2 years while MS is for 3 years. In Mtech you will be working as teaching assistant to your professor while in MS you will be working as research assistant. Your work depends on your professor. Most IITs allow both Mtech and MS students to sit for placements together.

B. Tech is a graduation degree in engineering whereas M. Tech is a graduation degree in engineering whereas M. Tech is a post-graduation degree.
