Can photons have different amplitude?

Photons only have one amplitude. It is not possible to align the wave of two photons to have same frequency, same phase and same direction of propagation. Photon is a quantized unit of energy.

Does all light have the same amplitude?

The amplitude of a wave tells us about the intensity or brightness of the light relative to other light waves of the same wavelength. Both Wave 1 and Wave 2 have the same wavelength but different amplitudes. The wavelength of light is an important property for it is this that determines the nature of the light.

Are all photon the same?

A photon is an energy packet. Energy depends on frequency. So, no, all photons are not the same.

What determines the amplitude of light?

So an amplitude in terms of an electromagnetic wave is related to its intensity. So technically, the more intense a light wave is at a point, the more its amplitude.

What does the amplitude of a photon mean?

Since photons represent quanta of light, and the energy density is proportional to E2, two maximally overlapping — that is, coherent — photons will have a “classical amplitude” of A sqrt (2), not 2A, to give a corresponding energy of 2 * hbar * omega.

Which light has the greatest amplitude?

Gamma rays has the greatest amplitude among all electromagnetic waves.

Do all photons have the same frequency?

Each photon has a wavelength and a frequency. The wavelength is defined as the distance between two peaks of the electric field with the same vector. The frequency of a photon is defined as how many wavelengths a photon propagates each second. Unlike an electromagnetic wave, a photon cannot actually be of a color.

Do photons always have the same energy?

Photons have a different energy, according to their wavelengths. For example, Gamma rays have higher energy when compared to other lights. Light travels at the same speed in a vacuum. In different mediums, different types of light travel at different rates.

Is amplitude the number of photons?

When you increase the amplitude of a light wave, you are essentially just sending more photons of the same kind.
