Can pawn move 2 spaces and capture?

The Pawn first move rules state each pawn has the option to move forward one space or two spaces. After this move, they can only move one space forward. However, they are also the only piece that captures in a method different from how they move. To capture, the Pawn moves diagonally one space (see the diagram).

Can a pawn double capture?

En passant can only be played when the enemy pawn moves over your pawn’s capture square during it’s first move (moving 2 squares); so the answer to both condition 1 and 2 is no. It is not possible for a pawn to en passant twice in a row.

Can a pawn take another pawn?

A pawn on its fifth rank may capture an enemy pawn on an adjacent file that has moved two squares in a single move, as if the pawn had moved only one square. the capture can only be made on the move immediately after the enemy pawn makes the double-step move; otherwise, the right to capture it en passant is lost.

Can a pawn capture a piece without capturing it?
