Can I use UPS without ground?

Without a properly installed grounding system, your UPS won’t function correctly. You must also connect the grounded conductor of the derived system to the grounding electrode.

Does a UPS have a ground wire?

If your device powered by the UPS has a ground wire, then it connects the housing of the UPS to the housing of the device. With the supply cable from the wall plug to the UPS unplugged, the housing of the UPS grounded with the housing of the device is floating.
