Can HashMap hold null values?

HashMap allows one null key and multiple null values whereas Hashtable doesn’t allow any null key or value.

Yes! You can put a null key in a hashmap. But java does not call the hashcode method on the null key, instead it stores this null key in a default bucket (say bucket 0).
